He has combined his real world experience with education from his father, GIA, ISA, ASA and NAJA over the years to offer jewelry buying services, advice, consultation, expert testimony and mediation in the areas of precious metal, jewelry, diamonds and colored gems.
David began his jewelry career in 1967 with the family firm and continues to offer expert jewelry buying services with his associate and Philadelphia Director, Steven Schiffman. Mr. Schiffman also has many years of buying experience and has developed a circle of collectors and contacts in order to facilitate making the best possible offers to purchase fine diamonds, colored gems of importance, jewelry and fine watches.
David Atlas also offers highly
specialized, technical
appraisal services for origin of damage, forensic investigation,
dispute mediation and resolution, jewelry consulting, and expert testimony.
David Atlas considers himself to be a consumer advocate. He pledges to offer the best possible prices, fairness and discretion to his clients.
David also continues to serve as an Associate Director and Chairman of Ethical Issues for NAJA. David Atlas, AKA “Oldminer”, enjoys the Pricescope community and intends to continue participation there as a contributor.
David Atlas is a partner since 2003 in Diamond & Gem Laboratories of America. DGLA offices are located in Horsham, PA and in Mumbai, India. This trade laboratory serves large jewelry chain clients as well as the public. David is also a partner and owner of International Hallmark and Assay, Ltd, providing precious metal testing and hallmarking for domestic Indian jewelry production and operating in Mumbai, India.
