About Dave Atlas
The principal and sole employee of this firm is David
S. Atlas, noted jewelry and gem expert with over 40 years of family
jewelry business experience. He has combined his real world experience 
with
education from his father, GIA, ISA, ASA and NAJA over the years to offer
advice, consultation, expert testimony and mediation in the areas of precious
metal, jewelry, diamonds and colored gems.
For many years, David Atlas, supervised Accredited Gem Appraisers and beginning in 2008 sold his interest in this operation to long time gemologist, employee, Christian DiCamillo who now carries on the appraisal of jewelry, diamonds and gems for private, distant Internet consumers, local individuals, trade firms, dealers, adjustors and attorneys.
David
continues to offer highly specialized, technical appraisal
services for
origin of damage, forensic investigation, dispute mediation and resolution,
jewelry consulting, and expert testimony while actively continuing support
services for Chris DiCamillo and the Accredited Gem Appraisers team. D. Atlas & Co also provides a consignment
sales service for jewelry assisting individuals to liquidate unwanted jewelry
at fair prices.
David also continues to serve as an Associate Director and Chairman of Ethical Issues for NAJA. David Atlas enjoys the Pricescope community and intends to continue participation there as a contributor. He has chosen to not offer insurance appraisals or grading services as an independent appraiser per a non-compete agreement with Chris DiCamillo. Instead, he has encouraged Chris to actively solicit individuals, trade and Internet clients for insurance reports and diamond grading. David recommends Chris DiCamillo and AGA as one of the few truly qualified firms to service Internet clients with professionalism and integrity.
David Atlas is a partner since 2003 in Diamond & Gem Laboratories of America. Our offices are located in Horsham, PA and in Mumbai, India. This trade laboratory serves large jewelry chain clients. David is also a partner and owner of International Hallmark and Assay, Ltd, providing precious metal testing and hallmarking for domestic Indian jewelry production.
